Thread facelift, also known as suture facelift, is an innovative technique used to address sagging, wrinkling, and loss of elastin in the facial area. With the use of special threads made of “polydioxanone,” the skin is suspended and pulled up to achieve a younger and tighter-looking appearance. This non-surgical procedure is highly sought-after and effective, with no age limit set, but generally not recommended for younger patients. The surgeon identifies problem areas, pulling and stretching the target area at an appropriate angle and pushing the threads beneath the skin, which can be repeated as needed. This procedure is completed without pain or discomfort and usually takes 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

The thread facelift is not a permanent solution, as the threads are absorbed and dissolved by subcutaneous cells over time. However, the longevity of the results depends on the individual patient’s skin structure, muscle structure, hormonal status, and age. Before and after the procedure, medical tests are performed to ensure the patient’s eligibility for this process.

The thread facelift is not limited to the face; it is also effective against sagging in the neck area and can correct breast sagging, lift the buttocks area, and address sagging in the inner parts of the arms and legs. It is a painless procedure, and the recovery process is shortened as collagen production is activated during the application. The advantages of thread facelift include creating a D-lift effect, reducing wrinkles around the eyes, and giving the cheekbone area a more definite look. Additionally, patients can resume daily life after the procedure, and there will be no scars left on the patient. The operative time of the procedure is usually 30 minutes, and bleeding and bruising are rare side effects, which can be treated with cold compresses.
